R & D collaboration project (seed money grant 2.0 lakhs) for field testing of sex pheromone for trapping adults of sugarcane internode borer initiated in 2012, in collaboration with S.V. Sugar Mills, Tamil Nadu, India. The focus is to improve the impact of pheromone trapping technology by fine tuning to local factory-level pest seasonality pattern.
R & D collaboration project (2012-15) towards the improved utilization of heat tolerant strain of the biocontrol agent – Trichogramma chilonis for refining and optimizing their release regime for biocontrol of sugarcane internode borer in 12 sugar factories in South India. Also awaiting funds (Rs. 26 lakhs) granted by Government of India-Department of Biotechnology for improving the shelf life of the bioagent-Trichogramma.
